The Chicago Blackhawks might soon have their 18-year-old phenom, Connor Bedard, back on the ice, potentially as early as tonight.

Blackhawks Awaiting Medical Clearance For Connor Bedard

NHL insider Elliotte Friedman reports that the Blackhawks are consulting with doctors to determine if Bedard can return to action against the Pittsburgh Penguins at the United Center.
Word this morning that Blackhawks and Connor Bedard are checking in with doctors about the possibility of playing tonight vs Pittsburgh. We will see what the day brings, but the good news is his return is close
Head coach Luke Richardson recently indicated that Bedard could make his comeback within the next week after recovering from a fractured jaw suffered in January. Despite the injury setback, Bedard has been actively participating in skating sessions and non-contact drills during practice.
Bedard, the reigning first overall pick, has been outstanding this season, leading all rookies with an impressive 33 points and is considered a frontrunner for the Calder Trophy. His injury occurred due to an open-ice hit from Brendan Smith of the New Jersey Devils. Since then, Bedard has shown remarkable determination in his recovery, returning to the ice just 10 days after the injury, albeit wearing a full-face shield and non-contact jersey.
Now, it seems we may witness Bedard's return to NHL action tonight.
Welcome back, Bedsy!
