That was on full display when he was recently involved in a 'Gen Z' NHL advertisement, one which caught the attention of many on social media due to the shock that the NHL was actually promoting its top stars.
Despite playing a prominent role, Bedard wasn't that thrilled to be a part of the ad, even though it cements him as the future of the NHL.
"It was fine. It was in Vegas (during the player media tour), we were just going station to station. But it turned out really well, I think. People enjoyed it. I think the NHL is doing a lot of stuff like that, trying to promote us off the ice, as well, a little bit. I think they did a good job," Bedard said.
Then, the young phenom was asked about his role within the league in the media, and unsurprisingly, he doesn't like that either, and while he understands it, he admits it's his least favourite part of the job.
"It's not fun, really. But it's part of it. It's not what I love to do. If I did, I'd be an actor. But I'm a hockey player. It's not my No. 1 thing, but it's fine."
It's very clear to tell that Bedard isn't comfortable with the media aspect of the NHL yet, as he, like McDavid is yet to show any major personality, but given the talent, he will continue letting his play on the ice speak for itself.
