The Detroit Red Wings absolutely nailed their first-round pick this year, landing 19-year old Nate Danielson who appears to be a star in the making.

Nate Danielson traded for a big time haul

Danielson is in the midst of his fourth season with the WHL's Brandon Wheat Kings, but now in his final year in the WHL, he's shockingly been traded.

The Wheat Kings have announced on X, formerly known as Twitter that they have landed Nicholas Johnson, Rhett Ravndahl, two first-round picks and a fifth-round pick for the star forward.

🚨TRADE ALERT🚨: The Wheat Kings have traded Nate Danielson to the Portland Winterhawks in exchange for forward Nicholas Johnson, defenseman Rhett Ravndahl, a first round pick in 2025 and 2027, and a fifth round pick in 2026.

In 26 games this season, Danielson has tallied 12 goals and 26 points while also notching three points in five games for Team Canada at the recent World Juniors, showing that he's well on his way to being a future NHL star for Detroit.
