The NHL has seen some incredible performances through the first few weeks of the season, but perhaps none have been more impressive than that of Alex DeBrincat.
This summer, DeBrincat was moved for the second straight off-season, landing with his home town Detroit Red Wings from Ottawa, and it's safe to say it couldn't have started better.
Through seven games, DeBrincat leads the NHL with an astonishing 9 goals, adding 4 assists for 13 points on the year, but now, the team have a worrying update on him.
According to a Red Wings beat reporter, DeBrincat missed practice today during illness, and while no callups from the AHL are expected, his availability for the teams next game is up in the air.
#RedWings Petry, Kostin appear close to returning Thursday, but DeBrincat came down ill before practice; Lalonde not sure about DeBrincat's availability. Regardless, no call ups from GR likely or needed
The team will see the return of
Jeff Petry and
Klim Kostin however, adding depth to this unit, but until he's back on the ice, DeBrincat's status will have all Red Wings fans nervous.
