Just a day after concluding their season, the Detroit Red Wings have made a roster move placing forward Austin Czarnik on waivers.

According to CapFriendly, the team has placed Czarnik on the waiver wire with the intention of assigning him to the Grand Rapids Griffins in the American Hockey League (AHL).
"Placed on Waivers
Austin Czarnik (C, RW) | DET
#LGRW" CapFriendly said.
Czarnik, aged 31, split the 2023-24 season between the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins and the NHL with the Red Wings. Across 36 AHL games, he accumulated 26 points (nine goals, 17 assists), along with ten penalty minutes and a minus-two rating. Meanwhile, in 34 NHL games for the Red Wings, Czarnik recorded one assist, 12 penalty minutes, and was a minus-three.
If Czarnik clears waivers by Thursday at 2 p.m. ET, he will join the Griffins for the remainder of the 2023-24 season. The Griffins are set to compete in the Calder Cup Playoffs this spring, currently holding seventh place in the Western Conference and second in the Central Division.
Do you think Austin Czarnik will get claimed from waivers?
