Things need to turn around fast or more heads will be rolling.
If you missed it, the Oilers decided to send their top goalie to the AHL.
Many reports suggest that the next one who'll fall if the Oilers don't start winning is the head coach, Jay Woodcroft.
Should he be replaced, a major candidate has been linked to the organization.
Insider Links Gerard Gallant to Oilers After Ties with Ken Holland are Revealed
The renowned insider Pierre LeBrun reported that there's a great friendship between the current GM and President in Edmonton, Ken Holland, and Gerard Gallant, who's looking for a new job.
LeBrun on Oilers (Insider Trading): "I don't think they see a team that has given up on their head coach, but if there are external options, it's worth noting that Gerard Gallant and Ken Holland go way back. They've played together in the AHL and have remained friends over the years."
Gallant notably reached the Stanley Cup finals with the Golden Knights in 2017-18 and led the New York Rangers to the Conference Finals in 2021-22.
His experience could greatly help the team find its way back on top.
