The Edmonton Oilers have found a way to save their season as they suddenly find themselves back in a playoff spot. However, one of the team's top forwards is reportedly playing through an injury that is limiting his effectiveness.
Oilers Power Forward Kane Playing Through Injury
Oilers beat writer Jason Gregor confirmed today what many Oilers fans were already suspecting. Evander Kane is playing through an injury. The power forward has reportedly been skipping practice as a way to give his body as much rest as possible in between games.
"Evander Kane is banged up. He did not practice yesterday after not taking the morning skate on Tuesday but played against Chicago. I haven't been able to pinpoint the injury, but he doesn't seem to be as explosive as he was earlier in the season."- Jason Gregor
Kane played nearly three minutes less than his season average against Chicago and did not take a single shift on the power play for the first time in his past ten games.

Overall though, Kane is still having a great year with the Oilers. He has 22 points in 26 games including 12 goals. He also has 46 penalty minutes and 97 hits, demonstrating his typical physical playstyle. Kane has been a big part of the team's recent success as he's been averaging half a goal per game over the last ten contests.
