A promising young goaltender, Connor Ungar, is on the verge of securing his first NHL contract, as reported by Ben Steiner of CBC Sports.
The 22-year-old, who had a breakout season at Brock University, is expected to sign with the Edmonton Oilers. Although he won't immediately join the NHL roster, Ungar will likely start in the minors upon signing.
Previously, Ungar showcased his skills in the Western Hockey League, maintaining a solid performance with the Moose Jaw Warriors. However, his standout season at Brock University, with a .932 save percentage and a 2.15 goals against average over 26 games, has garnered attention from NHL teams, including the Oilers.
