The Edmonton Oilers have faced plenty of challenges during Evander Kane's time with the team, and now it seems the veteran forward might be on his way out soon.
Evander Kane has had a troubled history in the NHL, and there were rumors this past season that his behavior was causing issues in the Oilers' locker room. While no trade is imminent, new reports suggest that Kane is drawing interest from other teams, including the Pacific Division rivals Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings.
However, Kane's situation is complicated by his no-movement clause, and he reportedly doesn't want to waive it right now, especially after the Oilers' recent appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals. But if his playing time continues to decrease in favor of younger players, his stance could change as the 2024/25 season progresses.
During his time with Edmonton, Kane has played 161 games, scoring 61 goals and totaling 111 points. Although he's dealt with injuries, his performance has been solid, though he hasn't quite provided the physical presence the team hoped for. Whether it's due to on-ice performance or locker room issues, Kane's departure might just be a matter of time, so keep an eye on how things unfold, especially with the Ducks and Kings potentially in the mix.
