After Buffalo's Matthew Savoie was dealt last week, it's now the turn of Owen Beck, the top prospect of the Montreal Canadiens.
Montreal's top prospect moved in a surprising deal
While Savoie went for almost a full draft of picks, Beck's return was much more reasonable, with the 19-year old center moved for a player and three picks.
🚨TRADE ALERT🚨
Spirit acquire OHL Champion and World Junior Gold Medalist Owen Beck in exchange for Aiden Young and three draft picks.
Spirit acquire OHL Champion and World Junior Gold Medalist Owen Beck in exchange for Aiden Young and three draft picks.
The 19-year old won a World Juniors gold a year ago with Team Canada and has been off to a great start for the Pete's this year, tallying 30 points in 25 games, and will now look to continue his development as one of the Canadiens hottest young prospects.
In exchange from Saginaw, the Pete's land Aiden Young and three draft picks, and for the Canadiens, this should only be a good thing as Beck will now look to chase juniors glory in what should be a positive for his development.
