Former Tampa Bay Lightning captain Steven Stamkos breaks silence after securing a new deal with the Nashville Predators.

Steven Stamkos is officially leaving the Tampa Bay Lightning after 16 seasons.

The long-time Lightning captain has signed a four-year, $8 million contract with the Nashville Predators in free agency on Monday.

At 34, Stamkos remains one of the NHL's top goal-scorers and recently completed his seventh 40-goal season.

Stamkos leaves the Lightning as a two-time Stanley Cup champion with several franchise records. He leads all Lightning players in goals (555), points (1,137), and games played (1,082).
