On Sunday night, the New York Rangers played against the Los Angeles Kings. During the first period, K'Andre Miller, a Rangers defender, spit on Drew Doughty, an act that is considered extremely offensive by any standards. The incident was captured on video, which can be seen on Twitter.
Following a quick review, Miller was ejected from the game for spitting on Doughty, leaving the already short-handed Rangers without one of their defenders. Miller attended a hearing yesterday, during which he apologized to Doughty and claimed that the incident was unintentional.
Today, the Department of Player Safety announced the punishment for Miller's actions.
