The New York Rangers have suffered a major setback as one of their veterans has been sidelined for the remainder of the season.

Blake Wheeler Suffers Injury For The Rest Of The Season

It was announced today that New York Rangers veteran Blake Wheeler will miss the rest of the season with injury.
Blake Wheeler is being placed on LTIR by the #NYR with a lower-body injury and won't return at all during the regular season. Even getting back for the playoffs is unlikely but will depend on his recovery and how far the team progresses.
New York Rangers forward Blake Wheeler suffered a right leg injury during last night's game, needing assistance from teammates to leave the ice.
The latest update on his condition isn't promising. Reports indicate that he will be placed on Long Term Injured Reserve, ruling him out for the remainder of the regular season. However, there's some hope that he might return during the Stanley Cup Playoffs, depending on the team's progress.
Wheeler, in his first season with the Rangers after leaving the Winnipeg Jets, had contributed nine goals and 12 assists in 54 games before the injury occurred.
