All-Star New York Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin exposed his head coach Peter Laviolette for his unusual rules and punishments towards his players.

Laviolette has implemented a strict new rule requiring players to arrive at the hotel four hours before game time, or face a fine for being late.
In a recent interview, goaltender Igor Shesterkin, a former Vezina Trophy winner, shared that Laviolette introduced this rule last season to ensure players avoid traffic and arrive on time. For example, if a game at Madison Square Garden starts at 7 p.m., players must be at the hotel by 3 p.m. to avoid fines.
Shesterkin mentioned that while no one has been fined yet, there have been close calls. He also prefers to stay at the hotel to get some rest during the afternoon, making it easier for him to adhere to the rule.
Last season, Laviolette introduced a rule that everyone must arrive at the hotel four hours before the game starts - this is done so that no one is late for the game because of traffic. If the game is at 7 p.m. and you haven't arrived at the hotel by 3 p.m., there will be a fine.

It has never happened that anyone was late, but there have been times when guys arrived just in time. But I always stayed at the hotel. I like to sleep during the day, so I am never late.

Laviolette's tough-love approach helps the players manage the challenges of playing in New York City, ensuring they stay focused and punctual.
