A fan on Instagram asked Rempe if he would come to California to go on a date with her. Rempe shared the message on his story with a poll offering two options: "I'd love to" and "No, please leave me alone." The poll showed 100% of the votes for "No, please leave me alone."

Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the poll was posted on Rempe's close friends' story, and the only vote was cast by Rempe himself.

The woman followed up with her own story and poll, trying to convince Rempe to reconsider. She wrote that her mom had discovered Rempe and included poll options: "Fine. Just to make ur mom happy" and "No, I don't care about ur mom."

Rempe quickly responded again, voting for "No, I don't care about ur mom."

This series of events has only increased fans' admiration for Rempe. His honesty and boldness on social media reflect the same attitude that fans appreciate on the ice.

The fan will now have to move on to her next celebrity crush while Rempe takes some time off before beginning training for the 2024-25 NHL season.
