NHL drops the hammer on Jacob Trouba for his dirty elbow on Evan Rodrigues

The Blue Shirts captain dangerously elbowed Evan Rodrigues in the head during the second period. Trouba received a two-minute penalty for this and an additional two-minute penalty for a stick hit on Sam Bennett.

The elbow to the head is particularly concerning.

Many were wondering if the NHL will take action and suspend Jacob Trouba. His reputation as a rough player and repeat offender raised this question.

P.K. Subban commented on X/Twitter, stating Trouba should have been ejected for such dangerous behavior, even in the physical context of playoff games.

Comparing this incident to Brendan Gallagher's hit on Adam Pelech, which earned Gallagher a five-game suspension, it seems fair that Trouba should face similar consequences. Trouba has a history of such actions, so it was time for the league to do something about it.

As a result, the NHL has officially fined Jacob Trouba the maximum allowed limit of 5000$.
