Alex DeBrincat recently shared his thoughts on his return to Ottawa.
DeBrincat Speaks to Media Ahead of First Game Back in Ottawa
During the offseason, many rumors were going around concerning Alex DeBrincat, suggesting that he wished to leave Ottawa. His brief tenure with the Senators appeared to fuel these speculations. However, in a recent interview, he addressed the rumors surrounding his trade.
"Over the summer when a lot of that stuff was coming out. I saw a little bit of it. It is what it is I think. I know what happened behind closed doors and what the situation was. A lot of the stuff coming out wasn't exactly how it played out. It is what it is. They'll write what they want to write. That's fine with me."
DeBrincat has previously clarified that the trade was not instigated by him, although he did convey to Senators management that he was not interested in a long-term commitment.
