The Ottawa Senators came into the season with playoff aspirations. During their game today, Senators fans turned on management in the middle of a game that Ottawa was winning.

Senators Fans Show Outrage With In Arena Chant

With 3 minutes left in the game and their team clearly ahead Senators fans were outraged. If you're confused no one would blame you why would fans be upset when their team is ahead? Well, it all has to do with one player who is missing from the roster Shane Pinto.
Pinto is missing due to the Senators poor management of the salary cap. Pinto is a restricted free agent who wants to be back with the team but the team has no space to sign him. To show their outrage towards the Senators management over this situation the crowd began to chant we want Pinto.
"We want Pinto" chants at the CTC are now heard on the broadcast.

Pinto is still not back with the team but is waiting for his opportunity to make an impact on the team.

Pinto Waiting For His Opportunity

With Pinto still at home without a contract he is waiting for the Senators to clear the cap space to bring him back. Pinto had a solid first full season in the NHL last year with 35 points in 82 games.
The 22-year-old forward was expected to be one of the breakout stars that would help this roster get back into the playoffs. Instead, he watches his team play from home while he waits for the Senators to get their affairs in order.
Clearly, this is something that is on the minds of Senators fans win or lose. If the management group continues to fail in signing Pinto we could hear these chants for weeks to come.
