Danny Briere made a statement today regarding the Philadelphia Flyers team next season, confirming Gurianov and Staal will not return.
With the rebuild halted by the teams tremendous playoff push this season, Briere acquired Denis Gurianov, who had no real impression in the team as he only played 4 games total with them. Gurianov was acquired from the Predators in a trade.
The decision to release Marc Staal was popular amongst some Flyers fans. The journeyman defenseman who has logged over 1000 games in the NHL only played in 35 games all season, while scraping together 1 goal and 5 points total. Whereas Staal was never known for his elite offensive production, his recent woes have forced some chatter of the defenseman's NHL career coming to a close.
This was one fans reaction on X to the news of Marc Staal not being apart of the Flyers anymore,
