Heartbreaking Tribute From Adam Johnson's Girlfriend Released

Adam Johnson's death shocked the hockey world over the weekend. The freak accident has sparked discussions of player safety as individuals and organizations from around the hockey world left their condolences. Today, his fiancée made a heartbreaking tribute to him.

Johnson's Tribute

One of Johnson's former teammates, Colorado's Riley Tufte, confirmed that Johnson had been living in England with his fiancée Ryan Wolfe. The two reportedly got engaged over the summer. Wolfe left a short message for Johnson on her Instagram following his tragic death.
"My sweet, sweet angel. I'll miss you forever and love you always."

The Ontario Reign of the AHL made their own tribute to Johnson when they made him 1st start of the game last night.
Many around the hockey world have taken to social media to celebrate his career's best moments, such as his first career NHL goal.
The Nottingham Panthers of the EIHL, Johnson's last team, mourned his passing with a statement honoring him as well.
"Adam, our number 47, was not only an outstanding ice hockey player, but also a great team-mate and an incredible person with his whole life ahead of him. The Panthers would like to send our thoughts and condolences to Adam's family, his partner, and all his friends at this extremely difficult time. Everyone at the club including players, staff, management and ownership are heartbroken at the news of Adam's passing."

The EIHL postponed all games scheduled yesterday, October 29th, to honor their player.
