The Pittsburgh Penguins are reportedly close to trading veteran centerman Lars Eller to acquire another top-nine forward.

Several teams have expressed interest in Eller, who has played over 1,000 NHL games, tallying 178 goals and 224 assists. Last season, he scored 15 goals and 16 assists in all 82 games with the Penguins. To bring in another top-nine forward, the Penguins would likely need to trade Eller.

One potential target for the Penguins is forward Ondrej Kase, who spent last season playing in Czechia.
Multiple teams continue to show interest in Ondřej Kaše, who spent last season playing at home in Czechia.

Edmonton and Pittsburgh among those who have inquired.
Now that the frenzy of the July 1st free agent period has calmed down, the Penguins may focus on making significant trades.
