Geoff Baker published an article for the Seattle Times, in which announces that the Seattle Kraken is currently being sued for the design of their Winter Classic jersey.
Lawsuit Against Kraken Regarding Winter Classic Jersey

The Kraken is accused of breaking trademark laws with their newest jersey.
The individual behind this lawsuit is Paul Kim, who affirms that he acquired the rights to the Seattle Metropolitan brand back in 2014.
According to Kim, the red "S" featured on the Kraken's jersey is similar to the design of the Seattle Metropolitan jerseys, of which he has held ownership rights since 2014.
NEW from @GeoffBakerTIMES: A lawsuit filed against the Kraken's ownership in U.S. District Court alleges that the Kraken violated trademark rights in the design of their NHL Winter Classic jerseys.
Teams often use outdoor games to pay a tribute to their history. While many believe the jersey is a great way to respect the old uniform. Unfortunately, Kim sees that as a way to make profit.
The Kraken could be forced to change their jersey, only a few days before the game.
The new design generated a lot of hype around the hockey community and many fans would be disappointed should the organization decides not to wear it.
However, they souldn't have used it in the first place.
