Patrick Kane continues to rehab from his hip surgery. He's been doing so in the Toronto area since July and requires at least another month. We know Buffalo has interest. He could help a lot of teams when healthy.
His extended stay in Toronto over the last couple of months might hint at his future playing intentions.
Kane has made it clear he won't commit to a team until he's fully healed, so it'll likely be another month before any signings occur.
Given his familiarity with Toronto, the Maple Leafs appear to be in an advantageous position to get Kane. Recent statements by Sheldon Keefe, confirming William Nylander's role at center, suggest the potential for Kane to join John Tavares on the second line.
Now, all eyes are on Brad Treliving to see if he can seal the deal and retain the prospective Hall of Famer in Toronto for the upcoming seasons.
