In a new development, tonight's Toronto Maple Leafs game will be delayed.
Leafs Postpone Game Start to Commemorate Tavares' 1000th Point
The Toronto Maple Leafs have officially announced that they will be postponing the start of tonight's game to conduct a special ceremony in honor of their Captain, John Tavares.
The organization will celebrate Tavares' 1000th career point.
Update: The Leafs will be honouring Captain John Tavares tonight for reaching 1,000 career points last week in New York. Tavares and his family will be honoured with a ceremony pre game.
Tavares achieved the remarkable milestone, becoming the 98th player in NHL history to do so, by assisting on the tying goal against his former team, the New York Islanders, just last week at UBS Arena.
Tonight, Maple Leafs fans will have the opportunity to give him the heartfelt celebration he truly deserves on home ice, in the presence of his family.
