The worry grows day by day for Maple Leafs offensive defenseman John Klingberg. As we await further updates on his health, Elliotte Friedman has just provided us with a major update.
John Klingberg Expected To Be Out For The Remainder Of The Season According To Insider Elliotte Friedman
The Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman was placed on long-term injured reserve (LTIR) last week with what was confirmed by team GM Brad Treliving to be a hip injury. Klingberg has been meeting with hip specialists in New York to determine his recovery.
Today, Elliotte Friedman provided us with an update.
Elliotte Friedman on 32T: «Klingberg, there should be clarity this week. We're expecting him to be out for the year»
This comes to no surprise as this was expected to be the case. If John misses the rest of the season, the Maple Leafs will have plenty of cap room to fix their defensive issues which has been quite noticeable thus far.
