Craig Berube has been named the new head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs following the firing of Sheldon Keefe. Details of Berube's contract have now been revealed.

After another disappointing postseason exit, it was clear changes were coming. Keefe was dismissed less than a week after the Game 7 loss.
After much speculation, insiders broke the news today that Berube, a highly sought-after coach, has been hired. The Maple Leafs confirmed the news on social media:

A press conference is scheduled for Tuesday to introduce Berube, but some contract details have already emerged. According to insider Pierre LeBrun, Berube has signed a four-year deal with the Leafs:
Craig Berube's deal as Leafs head coach is for 4 years
Berube brings an impressive pedigree to Toronto. He led the St. Louis Blues to their first Stanley Cup championship in 2019, ending a 52-year drought. Coincidentally, the Leafs' last title was also in 1967, adding a poetic touch to his hiring.
Craig Berube is officially the next coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

In 2019 he snapped a 52 year championship drought to get the Blues their first cup since joining the league in 1967.

The leafs last title? 1967.
Something poetic about that.

Here he is delivering the greatest pregame speech of all time before game 7 to win the cup. Leafs got themselves a fantastic coach.
The culture shift in Toronto will be interesting to watch as Berube takes the helm next season.
