Insider Elliotte Friedman revealed in his 32 thoughts podcast the next Toronto Maple Leafs head coach and provided us with details on why there's a delay.
Friedman recently suggested that Craig Berube is the frontrunner for the Toronto Maple Leafs head coaching position. However, despite expectations of an imminent announcement, the decision appears to be delayed.
Friedman on Toronto: «I'm leaning Berube. To me he's the guy but nothing is done til it's done.»
Berube has been a popular choice among fans and management alike, but the longer the process takes, the more speculation grows about other potential candidates such as Todd McLellan and Joel Quenneville.
The Leafs seem to be leaning towards Craig Berube to become the next Leafs head coach; however, «nothing is done until it's done» and Brad Treliving might just be slowing things down a bit
While Berube and McLellan are currently considered the top contenders, the final decision remains uncertain. If the rumors about Berube prove true, Maple Leafs fans could see their preferred candidate take the helm as head coach.
