Insider Elliotte Friedman and head coach Sheldon Keefe have provided official confirmation regarding the status of Toronto Maple Leafs superstar Auston Matthews for Game 6.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have confirmed that Auston Matthews will sit out tonight's critical Game 6 against the Boston Bruins. Matthews, who has been battling illness and injury, will miss his second consecutive game.
Auston Matthews is out for Game 6, per Sheldon Keefe.
