Toronto Maple Leafs make their first trade of the offseason

After plenty of speculation about their first-round pick, the Toronto Maple Leafs have now officially made a big draft day deal with the Anaheim Ducks.

While there was plenty of talent available when the Maple Leafs pick cmae up at No. 23, the team have decided to make the surprise move of trading out of the first round. The team acquired picks No. 31 and 58 from the Anaheim Ducks, who would go on to draft Stian Solberg with the pick, and now, the Maple Leafs add another draft pick in a very intriguing 2024 NHL Draft.

Toronto landed a potential star in last years draft, and given their confidence in their scouting, it's safe to say that they are confident in making the pick at No. 31. It's unclear who the Maple Leafs are going to target at No. 31, but with an additional pick, they've got another shot at picking a player that can help them in the future.
