The Maple Leafs search for a new bench boss appears to be in full traction as a veteran head coach was spotted boarding a plane on his way to Toronto.

Renowned NHL head coach Todd McLellan was recently spotted at the Los Angeles Airport, fueling speculation that he might be joining the Maple Leafs in Toronto.
The management of the Toronto Maple Leafs wasted no time in officially beginning their search for a new head coach after parting ways with Sheldon Keefe. Less than a week later, it appears they are already gearing up for the interview process.
A social media post revealed that McLellan was seen at LAX waiting to board a plane to Toronto. While there could be other reasons for his trip, the timing, coinciding with the Leafs' hiring process, is significant.

McLellan had already been identified as a potential candidate for the Leafs' head coaching position. His potential interview suggests that the management is keen on hearing his ideas and considering him for the role.
McLellan was recently fired by the Los Angeles Kings earlier in the season amid a rough patch for the team. Despite this, he boasts an impressive coaching career, with playoff appearances during his tenure with the Kings, Oilers, and Sharks. Although he hasn't won a Stanley Cup, he did secure a Championship in the AHL back in 2003 with the Houston Aeros.
Updates on the Leafs' search for a new head coach and McLellan's trip to Toronto are expected soon. Stay tuned for more details.
