The Utah Hockey Club relocated from the Arizona Coyotes to debut in the NHL in 2024 & promptly sold out for the season. Now there might be some concern about their new arena.
A post on Reddit indicated that there are a number of bad seats with obstructed views when the arena is set for hockey, which is concerning since the city has been so excited about the new team now coming to town.
Although the Utah team has a new name, look, and arena, the Utah team is supposed to, the Delta Center has undergone some changes in the meantime to accommodate hockey. The renovation failed to smoothen the seating problem, however, as many of the seats now view the ice obstructively, which could discourage people from attending games. Reports indicate that of the 10,000 regular seats, the next 6,000 are considered partial view, meaning almost half of the arena has obstructed seating-a definite drawback for the fans.
The arena was built more for an NBA court and thus lost a lot of its major seating to accommodate the larger hockey area. These are fixes that take years, thus making for a very frustrating experience in the meantime for some of the fans.
