In the 2021-22 season, the Vancouver Canucks hired Bruce Boudreau to try and right their ship, which he did and finished on a 100 point pace, just slightly missing the playoffs.
This season though, their start was absolutely terrible and it resulted in the firing of Boudreau.
The way the Canucks handled the situation though was even worse than how the season played out.
The other day on the Jeff Marek show, Boudreau shared that one of his players on the Canucks would consistently go to upper management and talk about the situation in Boudreau's favour:
Boudreau on Schenn: He would go upstairs and talk to management and say...
'Hey listen, what are doing? Bruce is doing a great job.'

While Luke Schenn didn't finish the season with the Canucks either, it just goes to show that there was a big mess when players were trying to defend their coach who ended up being fired.
Boudreau has always been known as a players coach, and you will not find too many players who have anything bad to say about him.
