Vancouver Canucks defenseman Carson Soucy is facing a suspension from NHL Player Safety for intentionally crosschecking Edmonton Oilers superstar Connor McDavid in the face.

Last night during the Canucks and Oilers game, defenseman Carson Soucy delivered a questionable hit on Connor McDavid, sparking controversy. McDavid faced two rough hits during a post-game scuffle, one of which was from Soucy.

NHL insider Elliotte Friedman has confirmed that Soucy will have a hearing with the Department of Player Safety regarding the incident. The debate centers on whether a suspension is necessary. The hit wasn't clean, and its unnecessary and dangerous nature raises concerns.

The type of hearing, whether in person or via phone, could impact the potential suspension length. While a significant suspension would typically be warranted, being in the Stanley Cup Playoffs might lead to a shorter punishment, possibly a game or two.
Do you think Soucy deserves to be suspended?
