The Vancouver Canucks were eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs last night by the Oilers. In the past, such eliminations have led to riots, prompting the Vancouver Police to issue a statement.
The Canucks' season ended disappointingly. Fans had hoped for a close Game 7 against the Edmonton Oilers, but the Oilers took an early lead and maintained control.

The Canucks tried to rally in the third period with two quick goals, but their comeback fell short. The Oilers won and advanced to the Western Conference Finals.

After the game, there was concern about potential riots in Vancouver, as has happened in the past after big losses. One account on X even posted a video claiming riots had started. However, the Vancouver Police Department confirmed the video was not from Vancouver.
We're not sure where you got this video, but this is not in Vancouver tonight.
While it's disappointing for Canucks fans to see their team out of the playoffs, the absence of riots is a positive sign. The lack of riots is encouraging for the future of the hockey community in Vancouver.
The Edmonton Oilers will now face the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference Finals. The Canucks will focus on getting their players healthy and preparing for next season.
