Amazon Prime has recently unveiled a trailer for an upcoming documentary centered on the most significant draft disappointment in NHL history.

January Premiere for NHL Draft Bust Documentary
The documentary, titled "Chosen One: Alexandre Daigle," is scheduled to debut on January 26, 2024. It delves into the narrative of Alexandre Daigle, who was drafted first overall by the Ottawa Senators in the 1993 NHL Draft and was anticipated to emerge as the league's next superstar.

Daigle's NHL career spanned several teams, including the Ottawa Senators, Philadelphia Flyers, Tampa Bay Lightning, New York Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and the Minnesota Wild. He achieved his best seasons while with Ottawa during the 1993-94 and 1996-97 seasons when he scored 51 points. His professional journey ultimately concluded in Europe, where he spent the final four seasons of his career.
"Following a remarkable start and with all eyes on him, Daigle failed to live up to the unattainable expectations. Now, decades later, following a turbulent career on the ice, Daigle reflects on how he navigated the gap between people's projections and his everyday existence, revealing the pressure and internal turmoil of not living up to the impossible hype."
