Massive Tilt Erupts Between 6' 7 Oilers Defenseman And Panthers Forward
Despite the fact that fighting is becoming less and less common in hockey, most fans still love a good, old-fashioned hockey fight. Tonight those fans got a treat as Vincent Desharnais and Jonah Gadjovich dropped the gloves for an extended tilt.
Panthers Fans Treated To Insane Fight Between Desharnais and Gadjovich
The fight occurred less than five minutes into the second period. It is not clear what sparked the altercation but Desharnais was the first player to drop the gloves. The 6'7" blueliner has gotten into three fights this year and is now up to 12 in his career at the NHL level.
Edmonton Oilers Drop Another Important Game
At this point, every game is a must-win for the Oilers. If the team is going to live up to expectations and at least make the playoffs they will be forced to go on a long stretch of winning. Tonight they were unable to accomplish that goal as they eventually lost to the Panthers by a final score of 5 to 3. It is another brutal loss in the nightmarish season for Oilers fans.
The Oilers are now 5-11-1, still 7th place in a weak pacific division. Their next assignment is against a tough Hurricanes team so things will not be getting any easier for them until they play the Capitals on Friday.
