A Chicago Blackhawks defenseman has been ejected for a dirty kneeing penalty that knocked out an opponent.

Vlasic Ejected For Kneeing Soderblom

The Chicago Blackhawks were getting blown out by the Detroit Red Wings in preseason hockey losing 5-1 when a Blackhawks defenseman, Alex Vlasic, kneed Red Wings forward Elmer Soderblom.
Alex Vlasic is ejected from the game for kneeing Elmer Soderblom — the brother of #Blackhawks goaltender Arvid Soderblom.

Soderblom was slow to get up and it is unknown if he will miss any time due to this injury.
Vlasic is a 22-year-old shutdown defenseman who was originally drafted in the 2019 draft. He has 21 total games of NHL experience and is looking to play his first full season this upcoming year.
Soderblom is a 6'8" Swedish forward who was a 6th-round pick in the 2019 draft and proved to be a steal quite quickly. Last season was his first one in North America and he played in 21 NHL games and 20 AHL games. He is looking to become a full-time NHLer this year like Vlasic.
