Vegas Golden Knights forward Brett Howden is facing a potential suspension after delivering a nasty hit to Kraken forward Brandon Tanev.
Howden Ejected For Hit On Tanev
The Vegas Golden Knights faced off against the Seattle Kraken last night for their first game of the season. They raised their Stanley Cup banner in a stellar show and were also giving a show on the ice by dominating the Kraken.
However, the festivities came to a screeching halt after forward Brett Howden laid a dangerous hit on Brandon Tanev.
#VegasBorn's Brett Howden is given a match penalty for illegal check to the head of #SeaKraken's Brandon Tanev

Tanev was very slow to get up. Major penalty has been called.
The Kraken ultimately fell to the Golden Knights 4-1.
Tanev's medical status has yet to be announced but as it looks, he has likely suffered a concussion as a result of the hit.
Howden was ejected for this hit and will likely face supplementary discipline for the hit. He will almost certainly get fined for the hit and will likely wind up getting suspended too.
Not a great way for him to start of his 2023-24 campaign.
