The Los Angeles Kings have come out of their rebuild ahead of schedule despite having question marks in goal over the past couple of seasons. Now there is even more uncertainty in net for them as Pheonix Copley is out for the remainder of the season.
Los Angeles Kings Goalie To Miss Rest Of Season With Injury
The veteran netminder had surgery to repair a torn ACL, a procedure that comes with a lengthy recovery time. As a result, he will miss the remainder of the season as the Kings will place him on long term injured reserve.
The @LAKings have announced that goaltender Pheonix Copley underwent successful ACL reconstruction surgery this week and will miss the remainder of the season.
Copley served admirably for the Kings, posting a 28-7-5 record over two seasons along with a 2.73 goals-against-average and an .898 save percentage. His tenure with the Kings was the longest of his NHL career, having played 45 games for the franchise over the past two seasons, edging out his time in Washington where he played in 29 games over the course of two seasons. His story is one of determination and perseverance.
