In breaking news, we have just found out the nature of Gabriel Vilardi's injury and how long he will be out.

Vilardi's Timeline for Return Now Known

During last night's Kings-Jets game, Jets forward Gabriel Vilardi got tripped up awkwardly and went down, promptly leaving the game with a lower-body injury.
Gabriel Vilardi heads to the dressing room after getting tripped by Blake Lizotte.
After missing the rest of the game, we now know just how much time Vilardi will miss as a result of the injury.
Sprained MCL for Gabriel Vilardi and he will be out 4-6 weeks according to HC Rick Bowness. Just maintenance for RW Mason Appleton, he's expected to play tomorrow.
This is a huge loss for the Jets, who have been playing Vilardi in the top 6 to start the season. Vilardi has 1 assist in the three games he has played so far. A timeline of 4-6 weeks puts his return at the beginning of December.
