The Tampa Bay Lightning aim to reach their fourth consecutive Stanley Cup Finals, but their recent performance has been their worst in nearly four years. The team has lost five consecutive games and eight out of their last ten, with a devastating 6-0 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes where they only managed 14 shots and failed to register a shot during the second period.
Unfortunately, the worst part of the game was when their star defender, Victor Hedman, took an awkward fall and limped off the ice early in the second period. Although he attempted to return, he was unable to continue, and after the game, the team confirmed that he had suffered an injury, but the extent of the injury was uncertain.
Recently, the Lightning announced that Hedman would be out of action for some time due to the injury, but coach Cooper is optimistic that he will return to the lineup soon and won't be sidelined for an extended period.
