The 24-year-old free agent forward Filip Zadina has officially signed a new 2-year contract with a new team.
After spending a year with the San Jose Sharks, the 6th overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft is leaving North America. Zadina has signed a two-year contract with HC Davos in the Swiss National League.
Jan Alston, the general manager of HC Davos, commented on the signing:
"Despite his young age, Filip brings a lot of experience and offensive qualities. He is still very young and has not yet reached his full potential. Filip will be one of seven foreign players in the squad. This will give the coaching staff more options to put the best team on the ice in every game."
Zadina played 262 NHL games with the Detroit Red Wings and the San Jose Sharks between 2018 and 2024, scoring 91 points, including 41 goals.
There were rumors that Zadina might sign a professional tryout contract in the NHL, with insider Kevin Weekes mentioning interest from teams like the Montreal Canadiens and the Buffalo Sabres.
