NCAA hockey is growing every year, and Penn State's team is about to get significantly bigger in the near future.

Penn State has been a powerhouse in NCAA hockey for some time, and their team is set to become even more formidable. According to a recent report, the team has received a commitment from 16-year-old Russian forward Alexander Karmanov.
Penn State has received a commitment from Russian 2008-born forward Alexander Carmanov.
What makes this commitment particularly intriguing is Karmanov's size. He stands 7 feet tall and weighs 250 pounds. While hockey is increasingly focused on speed and skill, having a player of Karmanov's size on the ice could be a game-changer. This season, Karmanov has demonstrated his ability to use his size to his advantage, tallying an impressive nine points across 18 games in two U16 competitions and one U18 competition.
It's uncertain how well his size will translate to success in college hockey, but it's an exciting and understandable move for Penn State. Karmanov is sure to be a player to watch when he eventually arrives in North America.
