In breaking news, the Montreal Canadiens have officially placed one of their forwards on waivers.

Montreal Canadiens Place Mitchell Stephens On Waivers

According to insider Chris Johnston, the Montreal Canadiens have announced that they have placed forward Mitchell Stephens on the waiver wire.
Habs announce they've loaned defenseman Justin Barron to the Laval Rocket and placed forward Mitchell Stephens on waivers.
I expect this means Tanner Pearson is soon to be activated and Arber Xhekaj might be coming up to Montreal.
Stephens has contributed with two goals, one assist, and 16 shots on goal in 23 NHL games this season. If he successfully clears waivers, it's likely that Stephens will be assigned to the minor leagues.
This move could open the door for Tanner Pearson to make a comeback to the lineup after recovering from an upper-body injury.
Do you think he will get claimed?
