Initially, the Montreal Canadiens were expected to be an exciting team to watch this year due to their commitment to a rebuild and selling off some of their older players. However, despite these expectations, no trades had been made yet, which caused frustration among fans.
Early this morning, the Montreal Canadiens finally made a move by trading Evgeny Dadonov to the Dallas Stars. Dadonov was acquired from the Vegas Golden Knights last offseason in exchange for Shea Weber's contract. In 50 games this season, he managed to score 4 goals and 18 points.
In exchange for Dadonov, the Montreal Canadiens received 25-year-old Denis Gurianov, who was the 12th overall pick in a previous draft.
