According to insider Arthur Staple and multiple sources, the New York Rangers will be placing veteran forward Nick Bonino on waivers this afternoon.

Bonino, 35, had signed a one-year, $800,000 contract in the off-season. Standing at 6 feet 1 inch, the center has tallied one goal and five points in 45 games this season.
Originally drafted 173rd overall by the San Jose Sharks in the 2007 draft, Bonino boasts a career spanning 868 games, during which he accumulated 159 goals and 358 points. His journey includes stints with the Anaheim Ducks, Vancouver Canucks, Pittsburgh Penguins, Nashville Predators, Minnesota Wild, and the Rangers.
Notably, Bonino played a pivotal role in the Penguins' back-to-back Stanley Cup victories in 2016-17, contributing eight goals and 25 points during those two postseasons.
