In a significant turn of events over the past week, five NHL players from the World Juniors Hockey Canada team, including Carter Hart, Alex Formenton, Dillon Dube, Michael McLeod, and Cal Foote, have reported to the London Police to face charges related to an incident that happened during the 2018 tournament.

However, the latest information suggests that more players could be asked to turn themselves in, adding to the complexity of the situation.

A new report raises the possibility of three additional players being charged in connection to the 2018 WJC scandal.
"In the lawsuit she filed in the spring of 2022, the alleged victim targeted Hockey Canada, all three Canadian major junior leagues and eight players who had only been identified by the pseudonyms John Doe and their year of birth.

Were the three unaccused players spared for lack of evidence or lack of direct participation? Did they try to intervene to stop the alleged attack? If they were indeed present, will some of them be called to testify, by the defense or the prosecutors, to explain what they witness?" - Martin Leclerc (translated from french)

Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman also recently noted how other players from that junior roster, some of whom are currently playing in the NHL, could be called to the stand.
Players allegedly involved and charged in this incident have made some statements about their innocence.
As the case progresses, other players are expected to be summoned to testify, promising a shocking trial. The London Police is scheduled to provide more details during a press conference on Monday.
NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman will also address the media today, ahead of the All-Star Skills Competition, shedding light on the league's perspective on this ongoing and troubling situation.
