Gary Bettman Finally Breaks Silence On The Corey Perry Situation
Over the past couple of days, the NHL's Board of Governors held some important meetings. During a media briefing Tuesday, NHL commissioner Gary Bettman addressed the termination of Corey Perry's contract by the Blackhawks.
According to a tweet by Elliotte Friedman, Bettman said he's comfortable with the way the Blackhawks dealt with the situation. He also said that there might be a need for a conversation or a hearing if Corey Perry decides to sign with another team in the future.
Gary Bettman says he hasn't determined if Corey Perry will need to have a conversation with him if he wishes to resume his NHL career at some point.

With this clarification we hope that the issue surrounding Corey Perry's contract can now be put to rest, allowing everyone to focus on the remainder of the season.
