The Battle of Alberta will return for another instalment this year, with the first encounter being another Heritage Classic, and with that comes the need for new uniforms.
An Oilers classic
Now, the Oilers have officially unveiled their new jersey for the event, as shown on social media by NHL Insider Frank Seravalli.
Reportedly, the jersey pays homage to the 1952 Edmonton Mercurys team that went on to win gold in the 1952 Olympics, and with a blend of the current Oilers colours, it's safe to say this will be a fan favourite.
The Oilers come into 2023-24 with high expectations, and there's no better way to build momentum and get the fans behind them then beating the provincial rival Calgary Flames, so with a new uniform and a talented team, this will be their chance to make a major statement.
