With the new season around the corner, Connor McDavid and Auston Matthews, two of the NHL's biggest stars, skated together recently with the local Red Bull team in Munich, Germany.

The offseason has been eventful for both players. McDavid, the captain of the Edmonton Oilers, got married this summer, while Matthews was named the 26th captain in Toronto Maple Leafs history. Despite their fierce rivalry on the ice, the two superstars appear to have a friendly relationship off the ice.
In a video that surfaced recently, Matthews is seen passing the puck to McDavid, who takes a shot on the goalie. The footage offers a rare glimpse of the two players working together during the offseason, much to the excitement of hockey fans.
The skate took place at SAP Garden in Munich, where they were joined by Red Bull's goalie, Christopher Kolarz. After the session, McDavid and Matthews posed for a photo with Kolarz, creating a memorable moment for the local team.
Although it's unclear whether their time in Germany was part of the NHL/NHLPA European media tour or just a spontaneous meeting, it's clear that the two players share a strong bond.
With the NHL season fast approaching, McDavid and Matthews will soon return to North America to prepare for training camp. For McDavid, that might mean organizing some pre-camp captain's skates in Edmonton, just like last year.
This offseason meetup between two of hockey's top talents is a reminder that the new season is just around the corner, and fans can't wait to see them back in action.
